DESCRIPTION:The 20th anniversary edition of the Faropis festival in memory of Stari Grad’s friend Tahir Mujičić \nThe 20th anniversary edition of the Faropis literary festival\, which is reflected in Stari Grad on Hvar\, will be dedicated to a great friend of that city and lover of that place\, the recently deceased Tahir Mujičić.\nDuring the two-day program\, on August 22 and 23\, 2026\, friends and colleagues will recall Mujičić’s literary and dramatic works and his unique personality with which he always gathered people around him eager for interesting conversations\, socializing and laughter.\nThe first day of the festival will do this through the musical and theatrical collage “Friends about Tahir Mujičić” in which the writer\, academician Boris Senker\, professor emeritus Joško Božanić\, opera artist Dinko Lupi\, musical artist Egle Trošelj\, actor Kristijan Ugrina\, and musician and actor Zoran Kelava will participate.\nThe second evening will see the promotion of Tahir Mujičić’s latest book “A little smaller novels or more about films and cinemas”\, published shortly before Mujičić’s death in February this year. This collection of stories will be presented by academician Boris Senker. \n  \nThe programs on both days will be held at St. Stephen’s Square at 9 p.m. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:The sixth edition of the Days in the Bay festival will be held in Stari Grad on Hvar from September 17 to 20. It is the only international event in Croatia and the Adriatic that celebrates the promotion and preservation of maritime heritage. \nThis year\, the partner country is Italy\, represented by the Arzana association from Venice. They are coming to Stari Grad with two traditional boats that will represent the Venetian lagoon. \nThis year’s Days in the Bay festival begins on Thursday\, and the parade of participants and the opening ceremony on Tvrdalj Square are on Friday. After that\, there will be a presentation of the traditional fleet and promotional sailings. Under the aegis of “Đir po vali”\, promotional sailing on traditional boats will be organized on all three days of the festival. \nThe Italian choir Coro Arzana will perform as a guest of the Terca ensemble from Split at the first full-length concert on Thursday\, September 17. After the Terca ensemble and the Coro Arzana choir on Thursday\, on Friday there will be a full-length concert by the Cambi a cappella group in Stari Grad\, and on Saturday Petar Grašo will sing on Tvrdalj Square. \nIn addition to the concerts\, visitors can expect a rich program of lectures and presentations on maritime heritage. There will also be a “Dalmatian marenda” (brunch)\, during which various tasty dishes will be sold at promotional prices in the city’s restaurants.
