Almost as a theatrical backdrop (which it actually becomes during summer cultural events) this square was formed from a stretch of shallow water during the 17<sup>th<\/sup> and 18<sup>th<\/sup> centuries. It was formerly home to a shipyard which was later covered up, and also the origin of its name ( the word <em>\u0161kor <\/em>derives from the word <em>\u0161kver, <\/em>meaning shipyard in the Dalmatian dialect). This curved space surrounded by characteristic Dalmatian workers\u2019 houses with picturesque luminaries (skylights), sulars and stairs (stone terraces with stairs) is the home of mythical Dalmatia.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-33 elementor-inner-column elementor-element
